Chloe by JL Peterson

Following her parents’ inevitable divorce, sixteen-year-old Chloe Archer is forced to relocate to a new school in a new town. The only part of that she’s worried about, though, is having to hide the abuse she receives from her twisted, unstable mother, and making sure her reckless twin sister stays out of trouble. As Chloe begins to navigate a life she never thought possible by making new friends and even falling in love, she must quickly decide if love and friendship are worth her two worlds colliding – or continue living in two separate worlds and eventually succumb to the madness that is forcibly taking over.

The Complicated Bond of Chloe and Zoe

In Chloe, the dynamic between the twin sisters Chloe and Zoe is as intricate and unpredictable as the tragedies that surround them. As identical twins, they share a bond so deep that words often aren’t needed. Yet, their relationship is anything but simple.

Zoe, the free-spirited dreamer, often struggles to balance her wild heart with the weight of codependency. Chloe, on the other hand, is the pragmatic one, fiercely protective of her sister but equally determined to carve out her own path. Where Zoe thrives on spontaneity and passion, Chloe finds comfort in structure and stability, creating both synergy and friction between them.

Throughout the story, readers are pulled into their intimate world—a space where love, jealousy, and unspoken truths simmer beneath the surface. Whether they’re teaming up against life’s challenges or finding themselves at odds over choices that threaten to unravel their bond, Chloe and Zoe’s relationship is a poignant exploration of sisterhood, identity, and the delicate dance of being forever connected yet desperately yearning to stand apart.

Their journey together is a testament to the resilience of family and the unshakable ties that bind, even when tested by secrets, heartbreak, and betrayal. Will their bond survive the storm, or will their differences tear them apart for good?

Dive into Chloe to experience the heartfelt and tumultuous relationship of these unforgettable twin sisters.

A Few 5-Star Reviews

My favorite book of 2024

Jennifer, I hope you see this review and know how talented you are!!!❤️

This story follows Chloe through her 16th year on this earth. A year full of heartbreak, sadness, elation and joy. Chloe and her twin sister are trapped with a mother who suffers from severe mental illness and her afflictions are the driving force of what happens in the family. When Chloe and Zoe’s parents divorce the girls decide to stay with their mom. Chloe to help her mother and sister and Zoe because she has always been treated like a queen by their mother and does whatever she wants, whenever she wants.

Chloe finally finds friends in the town they move to. She has only had one friend her entire life before now and you think that her life will finally be the type of life a teenager should have. The problem is her mother and sister keep her down with all of their issues.

Poor Chloe!!! I feel for this character. My heart has been broken a hundred times while reading this amazing book. I’ve felt all the emotions a reader should feel when reading this book and I thank you Jennifer for putting these words to paper. I know you had to have had a million struggles while writing this story but, I cannot thank you enough for persevering!! Your talent is immense and please never stop letting the stories come through.

What a ride!

I was fortunate to read this book before it was officially published, and let me say prepare yourself for a wild ride. This book is WILDLY insane. The author takes you on a journey of a young girl who is battling mental , physical and emotional stress from every single side. You’re going to become a part of the book and feel the sadness and anger but also the pockets of happiness the FMC experiences. You’re going to love the friendships, hate the bullies and over all feel a plethora of emotions. When I tell you anytime a book can make me feel strong emotions. Whether good or bad, means the author did their job !! I cried in multiple parts of this book. I was ready to fight a few characters multiple times in this book. I felt love and sadness. Every emotion the human body can feel, I felt. That’s amazing!
Multiple times I thought I knew what was going to happen, When I read books I like to predict what’s going to happen next. In this case the author smoothly and I mean smoothly says sike watch how I rock your world and changes what you thought you knew into something you’re NOT GOING TO SEE COMING. I was stunned silent at the end and that’s something because I always have something to say!

I couldn’t put this book down and I am so glad it’s being published in a physical copy. I promise you you’re going to enjoy the book! I for sure did!

This author needs to be discussed more. Same with this book.

Stop what you are doing and grab this book now. This is a thick book and can be intimidating, but the story you get from it is worth the heaviness. This is my favorite read this year. Might just be my favorite book PERIOD!

Heartbroken

Another favorite read of the year for me. Chloe can’t catch as break. The characters in this book are well written, I was even rooting for and crying over the out come of characters even though they were horrible to and treated chole horribly…

Such an amazing read.

I absolutely loved this book! DO NOT LET THE LENGTH SCARE YOU.. You will devour this Page turner in no time.!
I love a book that can make me feel. And this book will make you feel everything!

Happy sad. Disappointed. Loved broken.
By the end I was crying.

I do not want to give any spoilers. I just want to be adamant that you absolutely need to read this book.

There is a second book coming out so this book does end on a cliffhanger but man does it rock your world.
Kudos to this first time author. I cannot wait to see what more she has in store.

Wow!

Let me start by saying that this is the kind of story that only a strong individual could write and only stable people should read. That being said, it was phenomenal! The writing was outstanding and despite the dark subject matter, I truly loved the story being told. It’s a story we should all really understand isn’t about the horrible things happening, but the consequences of our choices in life.

While Chloe is only 16, she’s endured so much abuse and never spoken up about it and it’s ultimately her demise. Had she been forthcoming to her dad or friends, she might not have had to endure so much heartache. But the ending of this book totally wrecked me and I’ll be thinking about it forever!

I can’t wait to see what part 2 brings… hopefully a HEA!
